Knowing that his hatchback's suspension would be critical in harnessing the newfound power underhood, Viet contacted Preston at Function and Form for a set of Type 1 coilovers to replace his TEINs. Additionally, an ASR subframe brace, SRR lower control arms, an ITR 22mm antiroll bar, and a Benen three-point front shock tower brace were bolted on in hopes of stiffening the chassis and reducing body roll under hard cornering. CTR front brakes fitted with Power Slot rotors and Earl's steel braided brake lines take cues from the JDM ITR master cylinder and brake booster during harsh braking scenarios. A set of 16x7 WedSport TC-05 wheels wrapped in Nitto Neo Gen tires widen the stance and no doubt improve the Civic's look, which is proven by Viet's masterpiece. Not happy with the original color of the WedSport, a local powdercoating company was contracted to refinish them in satin black along with a set of custom red stickers made to replace the weathered originals.
High on Viet's list of priorities, as he pieced together his interior, was to emphasize functionality without giving up comfort. Bride Ergo II reclinable bucket seats hold the driver firmly as he grips the red-stitched Nardi 300mm steering wheel and '06 Civic Si shift knob, all the while stomping down on OEM optional pedals. A Top Fuel B-C-pillar brace flanks rear passengers, though they'll no doubt find comfort in a set of EK9 rear seats. If they can get past the 3-inch exhaust and intimidating Darth Vader-like intake note, they just might hear a few tracks through the Pioneer head unit and PPI-powered Focal speakers.
Viet had to sift through a few minor projects in order to find his perfect build. Through patience and perseverance he managed to piece together a standout Civic with a drop-dead gorgeous look, and the power to back it up. Whether he decides to move on to a new project or keep improving the current one, he's finally managed to make his mark.
