Bolts & Washers
Tai Ha's 2002 Acura RSX Type-s
Propulsion
Ha has so far left the bottom and top ends of his K20A2 alone, opting instead to boost with a Turbonetics 60-1, and custom manifold and charge piping from CK Auto in Philadelphia. A Spearco intercooler chills the charge entering the Integra Type R intake manifold, with a GReddy Type S blow-off valve relieving backpressure when the Integra Type R throttle body slams shut. Spent energy exits through a Thermal 3-inch exhaust, with a TiAL 38mm external wastegate regulating said spent energy on the exhaust side. Engine bay detail includes a Cusco oil catch can.
Fuel flows starts from a Walbro 255-lph fuel pump feeding RC Engineering 440cc injectors. NGK plugs light up the mixture while Hondata ECU tuning orchestrates the whole operation.
Power transfers to the ground via the stock six-speed transmission, augmented only with an Exedy Stage 1 clutch, 8-pound flywheel and ITR limited-slip. A Revo short shifter and metal bushings make gate changes even snappier.
Rims & Rubber
Ha runs two sets of wheels on the Type-S, either 17-inch Knig Hurrys in gloss black w/chrome lip (+43 offset) or a set of 18x8.5-inch Volk LE28Ns. Both sets of rollers get wrapped in Nitto Neo Gen 215/45-ZRs.
Stance
JIC FLA-2 adjustable coil-overs prop up the Type-S at all four corners aided by an Ingalls camber kit for the fine tuning. Elsewhere the Type S chassis gets stiffer than an 18-year-old with a Viagra fix. Progress 22mm sway bars front and rear with Hotchkis endlinks, Cusco B-pillar bar, Mugen rear strut tower bar, Neuspeed X brace-even Energy Suspension motor mount inserts-all contribute to the stamping-out flex wherever it's found.
