The anticipation for the third installment of the Wek’fest legacy reached a fever pitch just a few weeks prior to the big day. With so much attention surrounding the event via Facebook, various forums, and word of mouth, many were left wondering if it could carry enough momentum to live up to the hype. Not only were the lofty expectations met, they were completely blown out of the water. The show was set to take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., but even as late as 5 p.m., there stood a massive line outside the Fort Mason hall doors, packed with impatient fans wanting to catch a glimpse of the elite lineup. If you were lucky enough to get inside and inch your way through the heavy crowd, you were able to see some of the best show, street, and full-on race cars from California, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington.

While many cars sported the infamous low-offset trend, surprisingly, properly fit and fully functional wheels seemed to be making a major comeback amongst the Honda crowd. Also surprising was the large number of high-end B-series builds rather than the K-series standard. Aggressive aero, high-dollar wheels, and unimaginably clean engine bays continued to be the main attraction for showgoers. Of the 102 Hondas in attendance, at least 75 percent sported Rywire signage a testament to how much of an impact Ryan Basseri is making on the Honda community.

As the day went on, the two display halls seemed to be busting at the seams as the fast-moving crowd traveled up and down the rows, rubbing shoulders while trying to catch a glimpse or a photo of their favorite cars on display. Vendors included Rywire.com, Bisimoto.com, nwp4life.com, stickydiljoe.com, trendythreads.com, and many more that appreciated the heavy foot traffic throughout the entire day.

With such a successful event, you’re probably asking yourself why these guys don’t just throw more events, right? Apparently they were thinking the same thing, and the Wek’fest crew has mapped out a tour for 2011 that includes Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami.
