Atco, New Jersey - April 18th Your Community
In just its third year, the annual Honda Day event has already proven itself to be a smashing success. Combing the excitement of drag racing with a heated car show competition, fans from all over the East Coast made their way to Atco raceway. With legendary street and strip brawlers on hand to pump up the crowd, it was no surprise that the foot traffic was high throughout the day. And just to add a little more to the day, a K-powered Civic hatchback was actually given away to a lucky attendee. Log on to www.hondaday.com and find out when the next event will take place.

2010 Nisei
Last year was rumored, once again, to be the final Nisei event. But as with the last few years, Ken Miyoshi and the Showoff group managed to pull things together for yet another Honda-packed Nisei Showoff event. The theme of the day, just like last year, was clean and custom. Fabrication, home-built wheels, and one-off parts, polished and coated, adorned some of the best Hondas in the country-some coming as far away as Seattle and Arizona. K swaps, ITBs, massive turbos, and some of the cleanest paint jobs ever witnessed sat inside the downtown Los Angeles park and ride lot. Low offset wheels and different colored engine bays seemed to take a backseat to more functionally appropriate rollers and ultra-slick paint schemes. Will this be the last Nisei event? We won't know until summer 2011, but you can log onto www.showoffcafe.com around that time to find out.

Team Integra's
"Weekly Canyon Runs" First Year Anniversary Cruise
Integra Group hits Coastal Los Angeles Mountains

The "Weekly Canyon Runs" group from the Team Integra website held their anniversary cruise earlier this year as a large group of members met in Pacific Palisades, CA. The Integra-only pack headed out for six hours of intense driving in some of the more popular L.A. twisties.

Travis Langness, founder of the "Weekly Canyon Runs" movement, gathered everyone before heading out. "Don't cross double yellow lines. If you have to, you're going too fast. If there's a cop, slow down. No burn outs. And let's have fun," he asserted. Langness led the line of second, third, and fourth generation Tegs into Topanga State Park. The cruise began with Topanga Canyon Road, then to Old Topanga Canyon Roads. More sections followed before the herd rested at the famous Neptune's Net in Malibu for lunch. After eating, roughly 15 Integras cruised Pacific Coast Highway and headed to Latigo Canyon for another 10.2 miles of spirited driving. In all, the cruise added 93 miles to the odometer.

The sheer number of Integras on the trip made for an action-packed day. Bystanders watched in awe as the pack of Integras rumbled down the pavement, some even waving. One Shelby Cobra owner gave the thumbs up to the whole line. Event goers, ranging in ages from mid-teens to late-thirties, spoke quickly and excitedly during brake cool-down periods. Attendees exchanged names, phone numbers, and high fives during the downtime.

"The canyon runs are all about getting away from the city. It reminds you that not everything in SoCal consists of skyscrapers and master planned red-roof-tile houses," says Langness.
